How to design Professional Images for Fiverr, Upwork, and social media for free.
The Portfolio image on Fiverr, Upwork, or any other site is your first impression. If your images are of high quality and properly designed then you can have a positive impression on the client. Now, the question is how one can design professional images without knowing too much about graphic design. The answer is if we follow several rules while designing our images or posts then we can end up with an awesome design. In this post, I’ll discuss a few of them. However, I’ll start with a few free resources we can use for designing purposes.
Canva(dot)com is a graphic design platform that allows users to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents, and other visual content. Canva has ready-made designs with different dimensions that you can use for your design. No expert skills are required as you only have to change text, images, or colors.
Pexels is used for free stock photos you can use everywhere. ✓ Free for commercial use ✓ No attribution required.
Icons can make your image fast to read and visually appealing. Icons are a more effective way to communicate with your customers. Flaticon provides thousands of icons that are free to use.
As a powerful form of communication, color is irreplaceable. When used correctly, color can reflect the niche and even the overall business marketing strategy. Adobe color portal allows you to create ready-to-use color themes.
Now I’ll discuss a few of the rules that you can follow while designing your next Image
1- Consistency – Be consistent with color and typography.
2- Alignment – Always use proper alignment for all the elements while designing
3- Color Scheme – Don’t use too many colors and use color pallets from color(dot)adobe(dot)com to avoid using irritating color combinations.
4- Typography – Don’t use too many font variations and be consistent with fonts throughout the design e.g. Don’t use different fonts for different headings or text bodies. You can use Canva(dot)com ready-made font combinations.
5- Font size – Always use font size in a ratio e.g. 72 for Header 36 for subheading and 18 for the text body.
6- Negative Space – Don’t try to fill the whole image with text and icons. Rather, leave a lot of negative space otherwise your image will be too cluttered.
7- Icons – Use icons to convey your message rather than typing a whole lot of paragraphs.
8- Proofread – Always proofread your final design to avoid any spelling or grammatical mistakes. You can also use Grammarly for proofreading.
9- Readability – Use readable color combinations and font sizes keeping in mind your targeted audience.
